Certification – trustworthy log sales
As a family business, it is essential to us that our operations are efficient and agile. The Versowood Group has a wide range of certifications, both for log sales and for the products we manufacture.
The purpose of forest certification is to guarantee that silviculture remains balanced and sustainable, both in terms of the forest environment and of wood production. By purchasing wood from certified forests, we help to ensure the sustainable growth of forests. Together we can be economically productive, while at the same time practicing and promoting ecologically and socially sustainable forestry.
Domestic raw material from PEFC-certified forests
Because the Versowood Group is an innovative and responsible business, in all our log sales operations we deal with PEFC-certified forests. Among the criteria that must be met in order to receive PEFC certification are forest biodiversity, forest health and forest growth, and reliable monitoring of the origin of the raw wood.
When purchasing Versowood products, you can be sure that the raw material comes from well-managed forests. In accordance with the PEFC standard, the chain of origin of the wood is guaranteed for most of our products (see the certificate below). The chain of origin of sawn timber is also ensured by the FSC® FSC-STD-40-004 ver 3.0, FSC-STD-40-005 ver 3.1, FSC-STD-40-003 ver 2.1 (license code FCS-C130470) standard.
Certified glulam
Versowood’s glulam and other glued sawn timber goods have been awarded a CE certificate in accordance with the pan-European EN 14080 standard. In addition, our company has been awarded the Japanese JAS standard certificate for the glulam we produce.
ISPM 15-certified loading pallets
Our loading pallets are produced in compliance with the ISPM 15 standard. At our Riihimäki and Haukipudas plants, the ISO 14001 certificate is used for the production, sale and service of loading pallets.
